Egoli Food Basket completely relies on sponsor and donor funding, as we are a NGO and thus receive no funding from the government, but we are also registered as a NPO/PBO company under the name of Millions of Meals which we can issue a 18A Tax Certificate and you have the benefit to claim the donation back from SARS as a refundable donation that you have donated. We rely on the goodwill and interest of companies, both corporate and private.
Upon receiving corporate or private funding we will distribute the food to various schools or communities as identified.
Our core values are integrity, honesty, ethical business practice, excellent service delivery, unity, humility, servant hood and respect.
Only small quantities of products are kept at our office premises for immediate deliveries, larger quantities are manufactured only on request and allow 5 working days for delivery.
To keep prices at a very affordable level, we operate at a considerable low profit margin and we intend to cut out any middle parties.
We involve all concerned parties such as Welfare organizations, Feeding schemes, Schools, Churches, Pre-schools, After School care centres, Old age homes, Private sector, etc.
The primary keys to success of Egoli Food Basket/Millions of Meals are based on the following factors:
One of the biggest problems in the delivery of the products to various instances is theft and corruption.
Delivery of food products will be done once a month according to the order.
By monitoring this, the staff member of the school or instances has to sign for these deliveries.
The invoices are stamped and signed by the school or instance.
We will monitor the deliveries against the invoices.
Surprise visits and inspections to schools and instances will be executed where we render a service.
Reports of such inspections will be reported to management.
Storage of food products will be monitored.
Cooking and preparation facilities will also be inspected.
